Suspension Inspection & Repairs
Vehicle suspension systems vary considerably between makes and models. Common designs can incorporate coil springs, struts, shock absorbers, control arms, torsion bars, leaf springs, bushes and ball joints.
These components work together to control vehicle movement and absorb changes in the road surface while helping maintain stable tyre contact with the road.

UMR Engines can inspect shock absorbers for wear, leakage, damage and other conditions that may affect suspension performance.
Suspension Bushes & Ball Joints
Suspension systems contain bushes, joints and pivot points that allow controlled movement while locating the suspension components correctly.
As these components wear they can contribute to suspension noise, unwanted movement, steering problems and uneven tyre wear.
UMR Engines can inspect and replace worn suspension bushes and ball joints using suitable quality replacement components.
Depending on the vehicle and its intended use, replacement options may include genuine-style rubber bushes or suitable aftermarket alternatives such as polyurethane suspension bushes.
The appropriate component should be selected according to the vehicle, suspension design and how the vehicle is used rather than assuming a harder bush is suitable for every application.
Suspension Springs
Springs support the vehicle and form an important part of the suspension system. Springs can weaken, sag, become damaged or no longer provide the ride height and performance required for the vehicle.
Different vehicle loads and operating conditions may also require a different spring specification from the original standard application.
Where appropriate, UMR Engines can supply and fit replacement or upgraded springs selected to suit the vehicle and its intended use.
Suspension Repairs for Cars, 4WDs & Light Commercial Vehicles
Suspension requirements can be very different between an everyday passenger car, a 4WD, a work vehicle and a vehicle regularly carrying additional loads.
