Old School Service and Repairs
Repairs, service and modification of old school vehicles is an important part of UMR’s work. UMR
Engines builds many old school and modified engines for street cars and race cars. UMR has sponsored
many race cars over the last 40 odd years. Service and repairs are a large part of our workload. UMR has
experienced staff and management who enjoy repairing and servicing old school cars.
Old Chevs, Fords and Holdens are common vehicles in UMR ‘s workshop. Also Nissan, Toyota and
Mazda have now become popular old school rebuilds.
When working on these old vehicles quite often rebuilding rather than replacement of parts becomes
necessary as parts are not always freely available. UMR has sandblasting, crack testing, ultra sonic and
hot tank cleaning available along with aluminium welding and machining to carry out repairing and
fabrication of old parts.
UMR also has a set of road test rollers built into the undercover driveway where we can run and inspect
engines, drive trains and components for leaks and vibrations. This gives us the ability to pinpoint
problems within the safety of our workshop.
