The O.E. stock standard oil pump that is fitted to the Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50 2.2 Lt & 3.2 Lt engines is a vane type.
The standard vane pump are known to have issues with wear on the vanes and priming problems after oil changes.
We have also seen the standard type vanes to break in the original factory pumps.
This upgrade kit contains a gear type pump that replaces the standard type O.E. vain pump.
Modifications:

- We have found slight modifications are required to the oil pan baffle and a bolt hole boss to allow clearance. It is generally a simple procedure to cut/grind away part of the baffle plate to allow clearance for the modified gear type pump.
- We supply simple instructions on installation and modifications required. We recommend this work to be carried out by a qualified technician.
- Below is a picture of the baffle area we had to machine out to fit the modified oil pump for the 3.2 Lt version. (Modification variations may vary from year models and from Ford to Mazda.)
